Section 1 Short title, extent and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Sexual HarassmentDefined in section 2(n): includes unwelcome physical contact, requests for sexual favours, sexually coloured remarks, showing pornography, or other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature. of Women at WorkplaceDefined in section 2(o): includes public and private establishments, hospitals, sports venues, places visited during employment, employer-provided transport, and dwelling places or houses. (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
(2) It extends to the whole of India.
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
